This is the first of my guest posts by fashion blogger Sarah from Ivy Lane. I started following Sarah on Instagram which then lead me to her blog. Oh my gosh, I loved it! She has such great style and I love how she expresses herself. Sarah has a skill that I do not possess - she is great at assembling outfits. I've been chatting with Sarah over the past week and she has agreed to be my guest blogger for each change of season, giving you information and ideas for styling your photo session. Lucky us! If you'd like to leave a comment below to let us know what you think of our What to Wear blog posts, we'd both love to hear from you. You can check out Sarah's blog here. I'll hand over the reins to Sarah now:
"In my opinion, Autumn is a great season for styling outfits. It is a beautiful temperature that allows you to experiment with different pieces and materials without being too warm or cold.
For a family photo shoot, I think the most important advice to give is to keep outfits polished and classic. It's not the time to be trying the latest trends in fashion because trends are forever changing. These photos are something you'll have forever so you want the clothing you wear to be timeless choices.
Below are some outfits I've chosen for both a relaxed shoot and a more formal, dressier one as well (two casual outfits and one dressy for the men and women and an outfit each for both littlies and school aged children).
The most important thing about styling outfits is choosing something that you feel great in. Confidence in what you're wearing will always make you shine."
